Machine Control Technician / Mechanic
About the Role:
As a Machine Control Technician / Mechanic, you will install, calibrate, and maintain machine control systems on a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, drilling rigs, and other machinery. You will also train and support operators, troubleshooting any system issues that arise. This role involves collaboration with the technical department on the installation of base/reference stations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, calibrate, and maintain machine control systems.
- Train and support equipment operators on system usage.
- Liaise with the Machine Control Specialist (MCS) for training, installation scheduling, and guidance.
- Document and report any issues encountered.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on all outgoing equipment and record serial numbers in the database.
- Contribute to the marketing and sales efforts for machine control systems.
Reporting and Support:
You will report to the Machine Control Specialist (MCS) and receive support from:
- Brian Mangan (Machine Control Specialist): Brian has extensive experience with the product, including fitting, training, and customer support. He will provide initial training and ongoing guidance.
- Dariusz Liszka (Technical Manager): Dariusz is an expert in GNSS and electronics, focused on customer satisfaction and support. He will assist with reference station installations.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Performing pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new stock.
- Updating the equipment serial number database.
- Installing and calibrating new systems.
- Providing initial operator training.
- Periodically installing reference stations with Dariusz's assistance.
- Coordinating with Brian on training and marketing content (e.g., images).
- Attending monthly team meetings.
