Who are we looking for?

We are currently recruiting for a repair service technician / engineer to join our growing team in Rathcoole, Co. Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the family of surveying instrument service professionals which gives fantastic development prospects.

Quick view on everyday duties:

  • Working as part of an office based flexible and multi skilled team
  • Play a vital hands-on role contributing and achieving our customers set objectives within our everyday business
  • Perform bench diagnoses, tests, troubleshooting, rework and repair customer’s equipment
  • Calibrate / clean products
  • Troubleshoot complex installation issues, commission new systems
  • Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues
  • Occasionally perform field work for troubleshooting, installation and repair of products
  • Process customer orders, assist customers with parts requests/orders, enter information, bills out work performed, maintain service log and other departmental records
  • Provide tests and technical support via phone, email, and remote desktop software
  • Create / maintain Work Orders for all repairs in our ERP/CRM software
  • Create invoices for billable customer’s repairs
  • Organise third party documentation/freight for return of repairs to manufacturers
  • Assist customers with the operation and troubleshooting of products.
  • Perform analysis of sale / service reports
  • Actively drive service revenue by contacting customers with instruments due for service
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Some travel abroad is required

 

What are the requirements (you may have them all, but in that case, you probably work for  NASA, and you are not looking for a job):

  • Excellent computer skills
  • Mathematics and numeracy and accurate data entry skills
  • Be able to use an optical equipment (full training provided)
  • Manual skills to handle high integration circuit boards with soldering iron and other tools
  • Be able to complete all service events through the CRM/Insphire database system (training provided)
  • HNC, HND Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Some experience in hitech, electronic or instrumentation industry
  • Some experience in service/customer facing role
  • Strong communicator – Good at dealing with a variety of individuals, customer facing skills
  • Able to work on own initiate, Proven record of strong organizational abilities
  • Experience with the process of goods inwards/outwards in relation to the customer
  • Technically savvy with preferably electronics knowledge/experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills along with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines to ensure all tasks are completed with both accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • The position requires particular vision requirements including the ability to adjust focus or adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.

We value

  • Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics/Robotics Level 6 Qualification or higher
  • Experience with practical technical service for electro/mechanical & optical systems
  • Previous knowledge of any surveying equipment would be an advantage but is not essential, as full product training will be given.
